Open Educational Resources for Your Teacher Education Course: An Introduction Pt. 2
April 1, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm CDT

Have you been wanting to learn more about Open Educational Resources (OER)? In this 2 day/2-hour hands-on workshop, participants will be invited into the BranchED OER Commons Hub to find instructional materials that have been curated by teacher educators at Minority Serving Institutions for teacher educators at Minority Serving Institutions.
The two-day workshop will include an introduction to OER, Creative Commons license types, and a tour of the BranchED OER Commons Hub and collections. Participants will also practice skills for searching for and saving OER as well as adapting them to one’s own class and teaching needs. An additional goal of this workshop will be to model how to use OER to build candidates’ lesson-planning skills based on a framework developed by Dongho Kim (2018). The workshop will end with an invitation to sign up for BranchED’s Summer Institute to develop OER for your teacher education course.
