MSI Educator Preparation Program (EPP) Leaders Conversations
June 10, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm CDT
This is an unique opportunity to take part in a Branch Alliance for Educator Diversity (BranchED’s) “MSI EPP Leaders” Community Conversations, where we will be joined by an expert with deep understanding of the new federal funding opportunities and more specifically the American Rescue Plan, including funding the American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency (APR-ESSER) Relief Fund. Our goal for conversation is to create a space where MSI EPP Leaders can build a greater understanding of these opportunities, connect with colleagues, and discuss how MSI EPPs can engage with their respective school districts to “unpack” their plans and identify opportunities to partner in operationalizing the plans submitted by the school districts.
The American Rescue Plan includes funding for education, PK-12 specifically, with a focus of supporting Reopening Safely, Student Supports, and Educator Supports. The American Rescue Plan including funding the American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary School Emergency (APR-ESSER) Relief Fund that allows school districts to submit plans that address the needs of their students, families, schools, and communities. The APR-ESSER offers a unique opportunity for MSI EPP Leaders to lean in to support their local school district partners as they move from planning to implementation. The APR-ESSER provides funding for safely reopening and sustaining safe operations of schools while meeting academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs of students resulting from COVID.
Virtual logistics and additional information will be shared in advance of the session. Thank you in advance for your continued engagement. The BranchED Team looks forward to seeing you.
